Storyline : Mickey 17, known as an “expendable,” goes on a dangerous journey to colonize an ice planet.
Adapted from the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, this stars Robert Pattinson as an “expendable” – a disposable crew member on a space mission, selected for dangerous tasks because he can be renewed if his body dies, with his memories largely intact. With one regeneration, though, things go very wrong.

Review : Mickey 17 is a big change from his Oscar winning “Parasite” as he leans more black comedy on this new release. I didn’t find it to be a good move as the movie is missing what made Joon-Ho’s previous releases good aren’t here. Think of Alien but as a comedy with unexpected slapstick that you’d get in a Lanthimos piece. Almost Dana Carvey-esque humor at times. The supporting cast is made up of some big names, who all do a good job, however it’s the plot of the story that doesn’t capture you like Bong’s previous hits did. Ha. It doesn’t make you think at the end. It just ~ends~ where you’re wanting more, or a deep overarching theme about class, politics, SOMETHING. Those are my quick thoughts!
